08.10.2019 – Project team meeting in Hagenberg, Austria

In the last joint meeting, all work packages were discussed, incomplete areas were divided accordingly, and the last elaborations were discussed. In addition, the e-learning systems and gamification elements were tested and re-evaluated in the team. Another point was the monograph and the cross-border project guide. In this respect, the structure and layout were discussed within the team.


25.06.2019 – Final Conference

The final conference organised by the project team consisted of presentations about the results of the project, which were presented on this occasion to the people involved (teachers, strategic partners, etc.) and the public. In addition, there were further exciting lectures on the subject of CLIL and the use of the method in practice.

The conference took place on 25.06. at the campus of the Institute for Technology and Economics (VŠTE) in České Budějovice .

16.05. – 17.05.2019 – Cross-Cultural Business Conference in Steyr, Austria

The Cross-Cultural Business Conference took place from 16.05.-17.05.2019 at the Campus Steyr of the UAS Upper Austria. The aim of the annual conference is the intercultural and transnational exchange of teachers, researchers and students. Within the track of „Higher Education Research, Teaching and Learning“ the study, which was carried out during the pilot project, was presented under the title „Student Voices on Austrian and Czech Online Material of Logistics: A Cross-Cultural Evaluation of an Online Learning Vocabulary Tool“ by Martina Gaisch, Victoria Rammer, Jan Gregor and Libuše Turinská.


13.05. – 17.05.2019 – Pilot Project Week 2

The second pilot project week took place from 13.05.2019 – 17.05.2019 at the UAS Upper Austria, Campus Steyr. 10 persons of the UAS Upper Austria and 11 persons of the VSTE České Budějovice took part. Also in this pilot week participants from the fields of logistics, informatics, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, didactics and higher education research were represented.

01.04. – 12.04.2019 – Pilot Project Week 1

The first pilot project week took place from 01.04.2019 – 12.04.2019 at the VSTE in České Budějovice and was divided into a presence and online test phase. 9 persons from the UAS Upper Austria and 16 persons from the VSTE České Budějovice took part. The participating students, teachers and experts came from the fields of logistics, computer technologies, e-learning, didactics and pedagogy as well as higher education research.

08.02.2019 – Project team meeting in Hagenberg, Austria

During the meeting, the contents of the planned pilot project were summarized and discussed. The relaunch of the website, the preparation of the module and dictionaries as well as the current status of the project were also discussed. Furthermore, ideas for the integration of gamification elements in the e-learning system were jointly collected.

26.09.2018 – Project meeting, VSTE, České Budějovice, Czech Republic

In the course of the meeting the last changes and extensions of the modules and dictionaries were discussed. Furthermore, research topics for the conferences in the following year were collected. The topics and contents of the monograph as well as its structure were also discussed and jointly recorded in the team.


26.08. – 29.08.2018 – 40th EAIR Forum, Budapest, Hungary

The EAIR (The European Higher Education Society) 39th Annual Forum took place from 26.08.- 29.08.2018 at the Central European University in Budapest. Under the theme „Competition, Collaboration & Complementary in Higher Education“ the main topics were cooperation and competition within and outside educational institutions, universities and universities of applied sciences. During the conference the project and the INTERREG programme were presented by Martina Gaisch and Victoria Rammer under the title „From Complementarity to Synergy – The Added Value of Cross-Border Cooperation“.


21.06.2018 – 2nd international Workshop in Hagenberg, Austria

Within the framework of the three-year Interreg project CLIL (Content and Language-Integrated Learning) an international workshop was held on 21st June at the University of Applied Sciences, Campus Hagenberg. A total of 34 people participated in this event and listened to interesting presentations and lectures on CLIL, English as a Medium of Instruction, multimedia learning and visualization. The aim of the workshop was an intercultural and interdisciplinary exchange between Czech and Austrian teachers, researchers, and students to gain insights into and further information on CLIL and innovative e-learning formats.

18.05. – 19.05.2018 – Cross-Cultural Business Conference in Steyr, Austria

The Cross-Cultural Business Conference took place from 17.05.-18.05.2018 at the Campus Steyr of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. The program of the conference included a wide range of topics with a focus on intercultural perspectives. The submitted paper entitled “Differences in the Perception of E-Learning Resources“ was presented by Martina Gaisch, Victoria Rammer, Jan Gregor and Libuše Turinská and discussed within the framework of the track „Higher Education Research, Teaching and Learning“.


23.04.2018 – Project team meeting in Hagenberg, Austria

Together in the team the last topics for the 2nd workshop were collected and work packages were put together. Also the agenda and the program of the workshop were discussed and supplemented in the team. In addition, the presentation for the Cross-Cultural Business Conference was prepared and the progress of the project as well as the preparation of the modules were discussed.

During the meeting the relaunch of the website was discussed. It was defined which contents are relevant and how the structure of the website should be. In addition, topics for the pilot project and the second workshop were collected and the participation in conferences as well as the submitted contributions were discussed.


25.10.2017 – Project meeting in Hagenberg

The first project meeting with the new team on the Czech side took place at the FH OÖ, Campus Hagenberg. In the course of this meeting, important topics around the first reporting period were discussed. In addition, the progress of the project, the preparation of the modules and the creation of the specialist dictionaries were presented.

03.09. – 06.09.2017 – 39th EAIR Forum, Porto, Portugal

Martina Gaisch and Victoria Rammer participated in the 39th EAIR (the European Higher Education Society) Forum entitled “Under Pressure- Higher Education Institutions coping with multiple challenges” at the University of Porto. They presented and submitted a paper in the track “teaching and learning/regional innovation”. The study was conducted together with Lenka Hurskova and Jana Kratka from VSTE to help to generate meaningful Content and Language Integrated  Learning (CLIL) university modules that can be used by teachers, students as well as civil and mechanical engineers, IT experts and logistics specialists that operate at the border region of Austria and the Czech Republic.


28.08. – 30.08.2017 – 30th CHER Conference, Jyväskylä, Finnland

The 30th Annual Consortium of Higher Education Researchers (CHER) conference was held between 28.-30. August at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. The conference tried to identify new avenues for academic work and workers; teaching and learning; students – experience, admission and outcome and HEIs in society. In this context, a cross-border analysis on perceived graduate employability at the Austrian-Czech border region was presented by Martina Gaisch. This contribution was collaborative work done by Victoria Rammer, Silke Preymann and Stefanie Sterrer.


05.07. – 07.07.2017 Masterminde Europe Final Conference, Amsterdam, Netherlands

From 05.07.-07.07.2017 the Mastermind Europe Final Conference “Master’s admission for a diverse international classroom” took place in Amsterdam (the Netherlands). As part of this conference Victoria Rammer, presented the Interreg project CLIL addressing the aspects of content and language integrated learning as a strategy for improved cultural and linguistic diversity of students in technical degree programs. The presentation was held in the strand that was especially dedicated to foreign language teaching and learning at the tertiary level.


25.05. – 26.05.2017 – Conference Trends in Education: Technology, Computer technology, and Education technology, Bukovanský Mlýn, Czech Republic

Conference Trends in Education focused on Technology, Computer technology, and Education technology was held in May 2017 in Bukovanský Mlýn in the Czech Republic. The Czech project team participated with the contribution titled Diversity in technical education in Austria and Czech Republic (L. Hrušková, J. Krátká). The program of the conference with the participation of experts from the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Poland, and Russian Federation consisted of lectures and presentations on the topics related to implementing multimedia in teaching and learning. The findings presented in the conference were used for the purposes of the project.


17.05. – 19.05.2017 – Cross-Cultural Business Conference, Steyr, Austria

On 18 May 2017 Martina Gaisch, Victoria Rammer, Lenka Hrušková, Jana Krátká and Gabriela Mádlová presented a joint cross-border research paper at the Cross-cultural Business Conference 2017 in Steyr (Austria). It dealt with content language integrated learning as a driver for enhanced graduate employability. This cross-cultural analysis addressed employment needs in Upper Austria and the Czech Republic.

 


11.05.2017 – Meeting of Czech and Austrian project teams, Clarion Congress Hotel, České Budějovice, Czech Republic

The meeting took place at the Clarion Congress Hotel. The Czech colleagues showed the team on the Austrian side the premises in which the 1st workshop was to take place. In addition to the workshop, the pilot project and the elaboration of the modules were also discussed.


03.05. – 04.05.2017 – IBIMA Conference, Vienna, Austria

The Czech project team participated in the 29th IBIMA conference held on 3 – 4 May 2017 in Vienna, Austria. The contribution titled The Efficiency of Early Learning of Foreign Languages was presented in front of the academics and researchers from around the world. The conference addressed a wide range of important topics from all major business fields, including Software Engineering and Natural Language processing or Knowledge Management and Information Systems Research.


25.04.2017 – VSTE, České Budějovice, Czech Republic

Meeting of the Czech and Austrian project teams at the Institute of Technology and Economics, VSTE in České Budějovice. In the course of this meeting the progress of the project was discussed and further work packages were determined. Furthermore, the first contents of the planned workshop were collected and further publications and conference participations were discussed.


03.02.2017 – Kick off meeting, University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Linz,  Austria 

First big meeting of the Czech and Austrian project teams at the FH OÖ, campus Linz. Together, the work packages in the project were discussed and distributed among the fields of knowledge of the respective institution. Also the participation in possible conferences as well as the first research topics were discussed and planned.
